How To Train Your Dragon Coaster Track On The Way To The Epic Universe, Intamin Confirmed As Manufacturer – Orlando ParkStop

Epic Universe construction kicked into high gear this year after a short delay due to the pandemic. Now, shipping documents appear to show that the track for one of the park’s many roller coasters was recently delivered.

Roller coaster track and components for Project 903, believed to be a terrain based on the How to train your dragon franchise, was shipped by Intamin Amusement Rides from Germany to Florida just over a week ago. Let’s see what it can be used for and what we can learn from these documents.

Project 903 will be located on the southeast side of Epic Universe. The land is rumored to be themed around the Isle of Berk, as seen in the How to Train Your Dragon film series.

According to site plans and official concept art, the land will feature a collection of outdoor attractions, including roller coasters that circle much of the area.

Other expected attractions include two flat Sky Fly rides departing from Gerstlauer. This rotating attraction not only rotates around a centrally angled point, but also allows riders to control the intensity of their ride with a lever.

There’s a boat ride in the plans, which many believe will be an interactive Splash Battle by Mack Rides. This type of boat system allows racers to blast targets or even other boats using onboard water cannons. An outdoor play area can also be found on the plans.

Site plans also show a large indoor theater, which is expected to have 985 seats, an outdoor quick-service location, a full-service indoor restaurant and various other stores.

The How to Train Your Dragon roller coaster attraction can be seen twisting and spinning throughout the northern portion of the grounds, including passing under a guest bridge and over guest areas.

Just a few days ago, shipping reports surfaced for a “NEW AMUSEMENT RIDE” for “P903.” Reports mention “Intamin Amusement Rides” as the supplier. It’s the same company that made the Jurassic World VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorcycle Adventure for Universal Orlando.

The new How to Train Your Dragon roller coaster for Epic Universe is rumored to be similar to the Hagrid roller coaster, but a bit more family-friendly.

Shipping reports list this project as a “FAMILY LAUNCH COASTER”. This seems to confirm that just like the Hagrid roller coaster, this project will feature roller coaster launches and will in fact be a “family” roller coaster.

A bill of lading for the shipment shows it was shipped from Bremerhaven, Germany to Miami, Florida, and is dated April 30, 2022. The cargo was contained in more than a dozen shipping containers and weighed 93,145 kilograms (over 200,000 pounds).

Recent aerial photographs from the Epic Universe site don’t seem to show this roller coaster track on the site yet. It could still take a while for the track to be trucked from Miami to the Orlando yard, located near the Orange County Convention Center.

We can see the ride track for the Yoshi’s Adventure organized hike near the construction site. This ride is currently under construction in the Super Nintendo World area of the new theme park.
